Day 1 Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Mto Wa Mbu

You will meet your guide, chef, and other guests that are joining us when we pick you up from your hotel. We will travel for two hours to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its varied landscape.

Depending on where reported animal sightings are, we’ll go on a game drive through the park (mostly predators, lions, cheetahs, and leopards as they are harder to spot). We’ll afterward travel to the Tarangire River picnic area where we may have lunch and take in the lovely vista of the river and wildlife. After lunch, we’ll continue the game drive and leave the park around 4:30 pm. We’ll then head to Fig Tree Lodge & Campsite or a comparable place to stay for supper and the night.

Day 2 Mto Wa Mbu – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will travel the six hours (with pauses) from our lodging in Mto Wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Crater.

Will make a brief halt at the gate and look out to admire the mesmerizing crater view. We’ll then travel to the Serengeti National Park. After arriving in the late afternoon, we will go on a game drive in Seronera (the Serengeti’s geographic core) until late at night, when we will witness the magnificent Serengeti sunset. After that, we’ll make our way to our Seronera Campsite for the night.

Day 3 Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

We’ll embark on an early game drive to observe many animals after a leisurely breakfast. After lunch, we’ll return to our campsite before doing a wildlife drive in the Serengeti in the late afternoon. After we’re done, we’ll drive the two hours to the Simba Campsite, where we’ll have dinner and spend the night close to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 4 Ngorongoro Crater – Mto Wa Mbu

The black rhino is the most difficult to detect in the stunning crater, so after an early breakfast, we will travel into it at 6:15 am. Due to the park’s location in a floor crater, the majority of animals can be easily seen from here. We’ll take a game drive after lunch, climb the crater, and then move on to the Fig Lodge & Campsite or similar for dinner and the night.

Day 5 Mto Wa Mbu – Lake Manyara – Mto Wa Mbu

We’ll travel to Lake Manyara National Park after breakfast, which is well-known for its big population of flamingos in the lake and its tree-climbing lions. On our game drive, we’ll see a wide variety of animals and birds. We’ll also stop by the hippo pool to get a close-up glimpse of the hippos. Buffaloes, wildebeest, warthogs, vultures, eagles, monkeys, and more can be spotted here. Drive to Arusha for the night in the evening.

Day 6 Arusha – Materuni waterfalls – Arusha

Today you will take in the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro’s surroundings. The Chagga tribe resides in Materuni, which is a fantastic true tribal town located just outside of Kilimanjaro National Park.

The waterfalls, which are about a 40-minute walk away, will be our first stop. Your tour guide will educate you on the Chagga culture, village life, and the local flora and animals as you travel. The scenery is incredibly spectacular, and if you’re lucky, you’ll get to glimpse Mount Kilimanjaro’s summit as well. You will notice that the waterfalls are more than 80 meters high once you arrive at them. Don’t forget your swimsuit because the waterfall’s bottom pool looks enticing for a cool dip. You will leisurely make your way back to Materuni village with your guide after taking in the surroundings, where you will partake in a typical Chagga meal. Also, you will have the chance to try the must-try local banana beer!
The coffee experience is next on the agenda. You may discover how coffee is grown, dried, roasted, and further processed here. A fun approach to becoming more familiar with the community is to participate in coffee grinding, which is customarily accompanied by Chagga music and dances.
After the trip, we’ll return you to your lodging or the airport depending on the time of your flight.
